PCN IN THE MOUNTAINS
Healing Through Art, Play & English
In the remote mountains near Belopa, access to education faces immense challenges. Many children prioritize working to support their families over attending school, and local teachers are often overwhelmed, understaffed, and stretched thin across multiple subjects.
The journey to these villages isn't easy—long, bumpy roads and hours of travel make regular visits nearly impossible for many educators. But at PCN Academy, we believe every child deserves a chance to learn, dream, and grow.
Beyond academics, we also recognize the importance of emotional well-being. Through art and play therapy, children are given a safe space to express their emotions, process their experiences, and build confidence. Activities like painting, storytelling, and creative games create moments of joy and healing, fostering resilience and emotional growth.
With the incredible support of PT MASMINDO DWI AREA, we embarked on our first project in these mountains. Their funding provided us with transportation, books, bags, and essential stationery—everything needed to make education more accessible.
Together, we created classrooms filled with enthusiasm, curiosity, and hope. Foreign volunteers brought engaging activities and language lessons, breaking barriers and opening doors to new possibilities.
In these mountain classrooms, English isn't just taught—it's experienced! Through games, interactive activities, and lessons integrated with nature, learning becomes fun and meaningful. Whether it's storytelling under the shade of a tree, word games on paper sheets, or interactive challenges in the open air, every session is designed to spark joy and curiosity in young learners.
This is just the beginning of our journey. We're not only teaching English but also building connections, inspiring dreams, and planting seeds for a brighter future.
